I scrambled Jim Kelly in the Coquihalla yesterday and left one of my hiking poles with Del Sol's poles somewhere on the first bump. If you happen to go up there you'll probably find 3 poles in a pile on the way up because we followed a zig-zag that presented itself on the mountain. Stu took the time to look for them to no avail. I'll buy you a beer for the return of my dear pole, she's been with me 4 years and was so comfortable you wouldn't believe it.

She's a gold black diamond contour pole, so long dear friend!

I lost my cap on the trip to Cypress Peak this past Saturday (Oct 16). I'm fairly sure I dropped it on the back of the truck we hitchhiked for a km to our car. It might've flown out on the way, but if the nice 3 fellows who gave us the ride found it, please let me know. I'll definitely buy you a beer - that cap was special to me. It is a red-ish one with Bayern Munich (German Bundesliga soccer team) logo at the front.

Thanks in advance!
Shane

Left my sunglasses by the outlet of Marion Lake.

They are black "firefly" brand and nothing really fancy but they fit me well and I would like them back. I had just bushwhacked back up to my bike from the lake and couldn't bear the thought of going back down to get them.

Found: 1 MEC Winter Mitt

(Oops - put this in the wrong section yesterday.)

Found on the shores of Quadra Island on July 30. Possibly from a kayaker, boater or fisherman?

It's in great condition considering it may have been in the water for a while.

Happy to help get it back to the owner.

Lost: one Black Diamond trekking pole with a cork handle, somewhere on the road between the Judges route parking area at Mt. Arrowsmith and the brake check (heading east on the highway).

If anyone finds it I will be most appreciative! We've been through a lot together.

Well no one has claimed the MEC Winter Mitt. I called MEC and they said to drop it off to any of their stores as they always have folks coming in hoping to match up some piece of gear that they have lost. So I will wait a few more weeks as I have also posted the item on the West Coast Paddler Forum and on Quadra Island where I found it. After that the mitt's new home will be the Calgary MEC.

Happy Trails

If there's a single reason why I would stop hiking - its because I loose so much gear.

About a month ago: Keith's hut - flip flops and gloves- fortunately in the hut and not near Vantage Peak.

This weekend - Olympus DSLR in a small orange compression like sack - probably between Beth Lake and Capillano Mountain

Dennis lost his gloves while we were doing the Hollyburn, Strachan, Christmas Gully two weeks ago - might be on the HSCT between the gully and the chalet.

On another note someone used bolt cutters to free my Kona Dew Deluxe shortly after a bike and campout on Paton's Lookout.
