T2C was an awesome contributor to this site until he started spewing unecessary shite that was disrespectful to people on this Board, much like the newcomers now that should also be banned IMO.

We've tolerated a lot over the years but for the most part, people have been respectful and tolerant of each other, and have kept the foul language to a minimum. Nothing wrong with having an opinion, but keep it clean.

Not much policing so much anymore on this site and it seems that the "say whatever you want" newcomers spew all they want and nothing is done.

As someone recently stated, this site is at it's best with T/R's and at it's worst when flaming wars start which seems to be the norm these days.

All of you stop typing and get outside and post about the shite that you've been doing! That's the Beauty of CT. Certainly not this crap. No one ever wins an online debate ... it's just a bunch of verbal diarrhea that get's nowhere fast.

You're onto something there Viking ...... my thoughts as to why west coasters are so self rightious, often anal, and more than often self indulged, is .....the living is too easy on the coast. Mild climates, lots of food, liberal social programs, etc., etc., .....

Alberta and Saskatchewan people have to be tough to live there ...... no time or patience for the bull sh!t that is so acceptable (politics included) here ......

Time for a toke ... ?

In your own opinion, does BC have any great advantages over Alberta? Or Alberta over BC? I mean what is it besides blind patriotism (on a province/state level instead of country, don't know a term for that) that makes one place so much better than the next?

The truely great advantage B.C. has over Alberta presently ...... B.C. hasn't sold itself COMPLETELY YET to the highest bidder .....the bidding is out there Enron, etc.

Alberta was such a jewel when I was a boy growing up there, and being a native Albertan, I'm critical of the way the province has sold out ......

I sympathize with your view much more than you might think. But I have to ask, did I create this thread? Do you not agree that this thread is rather pointless and can only serve to be incendiary? If I created a thread titled "Women suck" and then pointed to some tiny insignificant opinion on a tiny insignificant forum would you not expect some people to post some, for lack of a better word atm, crap on it in response? Would you blame women for being offended or just for expressing their offence?

My point is you can ban if you like that's certainly your prerogative, but so long as threads like this keep popping up there will be flame, regardless of whether or not I'm involved in it.

As for positive contributions I have potential trip reports from the Rock wall, Assiniboine, the Brazeau loop etc., that I have accumulated over the past 3 years or so and I often thought about sharing them but given the attitude towards Albertans here I always figured I'd tell some anecdote about, oh I don't know, forgetting that higher altitudes would affect my burn time for propane or something about my dog or soemthign about losing a hiking pole and end up hearing a load of "Yep! That's Albertans for you!" Why bother?

By the way, 3 years ago i went to Bowron lakes - had a great time, beautiful place. Along the way on the drive from Prince George to Quesnel we saw this little number:

Oh my. Praise baby Jesus and pass the ammunition. Should I conclude from this that BC is just a province of base rednecks?....or would that be a stupid conclusion to come to based on nothing?

Bullshit. You google "club tread" and you get 40 postings from club tread. You google "club tread + alberta" and you get 40 postings of club tread. However if you google "Club tread + anti-hunting" and boom: there it is. In other words, as if there was any doubt in anyones mind, you went on googling in order to troll and start up an argument that has been finished over and over again.

You're a troll. Period.

If you type "Club Tread" into Google, the article in question is on the first page. FACT.

(shrugs) Nope. I just posted screenshots of the list that appears if you google "club tread", etc. That's a fact. The other fact is it will creep up to the top of your list if you visit the thread in question a few times. The other fact is cambium went searching for something to start a stupid thread about and that's what he did. The other fact is this thread is pointless and incendiary. The other fact is you would say anything just to act as a cheerleader for your buddy.

Okay.

All I know is I just got the exact same search results on a completely different computer using a completely different IP address... a computer that has never been used to look up "Club Tread" so forgive me for calling bullshit.

In lew of calling you a liar, I will instead suggest the possibility of getting different search results depending on where in the country you are. Anyone know if that might be the case? Because I'm certainly telling how it is here on my end.

<edit>
google also shows ten search results per page, I only see four on your screengrab

I have a better idea Viking: come up with a plausible reason to even post this thread over a tiny insignificant post from a tiny insignificant forum other than simply to start up old fights that have ended (while telling everyone else they are unable to 'bury the hatchet').

What purpose does this thread serve? Information? No. Not information anyone needs that's for sure. I doubt he would've posted it at all if he wasn't so sure it came from Alberta. As others have pointed out even the title is incendiary. No one needs to know every single pointless opinion out there and then argue about it.

Exactly what is the OP going to inspire besides a lot of "Those dirty Albertans" from BC'ers or defensive, "Hey we didn't write that post" from Albertans here who post many "positive" threads and whose only crime is being from Alberta?

(shrugs) I could've photoshopped the entire thing too. If you don't want to believe it don't and if you want to call me a liar by all means do so. I'm quite immune to getting insulted by the likes of you.

Okay. I believe you. Does that make you feel better? As I said if you visit the page a few times it will creep up the list. For example one wouldn't expect to type "Club" into google and have "ClubTread" come up second on the entire planet, but that's what happens when I do it because I've navigated to this site so often:

Again not a fact, the fact is CT is not on my quick access favorites bar[if that's any of your business, NOT] and sometimes I just google the name.
I didn't searched for a flame, just as much as I searched for you!Don't call me a Liar again.
I received a recent request by a recently appointed moderator and I intend to be as civil as I can within reason and hopefully no provocation involved.
I sincerely hope you got the same request.

Fair enough johngenx, for what it's worth I thought it was directed at both of us (canbium and I). However I am painfully aware of, and admit my role in, these recent flame matches and wouldn't blame anyone for being disappointed/frustrated with my participation in them even if they agreed with some of the things I was saying. I could have all the solid points in the world but at the end of the day ugly is ugly and these arguments are ugly. I admit it.

You know what's ugly...

That lady in recent American news for allegedly taking her kid into a taning booth with her. Oh my god she looks like one of those cast iron racist piggy banks that flips coins into their mouths.

And to answer release's assumption that there is no value to this thread being posted, well there is, and this vindictive assailing towards fellow members is exactly what those posters in a machine thread have noted about us... rather ironic when one thinks the shoe would be on their foot, and yet ifone reads some of those posted comments, there is even an air of concilitory reasoning towards some of us, and then they appeared to move on to other matters, like we should and learn not to use foul languages and derision on each other.
I just met an atv recently on a Mtn Bike trail network, he was going nice & slow & quietly on his yamaha grizz, we got to a good talk about all sorts of stuff, and at that he turned around and apologized for being off-course.
No problems or such, very cordial.

What Spunky stated earlier is right on too.

So before this bogs down into further ugliness, I'm off to better things.

I didn't call you a liar, I called bullshit, just as Viking did a moment ago and I didn't bother getting angry about it. If you're going to start insulting threads you should develop a thinker skin.

If that's a half-handed request for a truce; a request to forget the past and start over; a request for a mutual acknowledgement that these arguments debase both of us and the forum; perhaps even an acknowledgement that neither one of us knows what the other person is like and that we should perhaps endeavour to be positive towards each other instead of always assuming the worst, well you won't get any argument from me. I've never refused a sincere request in this regard in my life.

I apologize for my anger and my part in this. Let's move on.
