We have about 300 nights on our MH, and it's not been an issue. BUT, we also use it in the Rockies, which is quite dry. The only thing that's worn out now is the zippers. The door zippers are on their last legs, and I'm not sure if it's worth to repair, as new zippers can be pretty pricey.
Here's a tip about zippers that worked with my MH tent. Rub them with candle wax and they'll work more smoothly. |

I should restate that MSR makes an add on vestibule, called the "Gear Shed", that will fit on the Hubba and the Hubba- Hubba and is reported to fit on the Mutha Hubba.
When on a 3 day ski tour last weekend to Strathcona Park, we were 4 people, camped on snow, with constant rain. One tent was a MEC TGV 4 season and mine was a Hubba Hubba, with the Gear Shed add on. If temperature was colder, the precipitation would have been snow and my Hubba set up would have likely collapsed.
As it was, the people in the 4 season TGV were cramped inside and couldn't cook or move around outside, due to the rain. We, all four, spent all of our cooking, eating and evening time in the Gear Shed vestibule, in relative comfort and dryness. It will really hold 4 people in comfort, for cooking & eating.
Oh, I should also note that the Gear Shed added on to a Hubba- Hubba could possibly make room for up to 4 people, to sleep in, during nice weather. Now a Hubba- Hubba with TWO Gear Sheds could maybe sleep maybe six? |

Hmmm, that Gear Shed is rather interesting- didn't know they had such a thing. Seems a bit pricey, but it would make the Hubbas more versatile.
I can see how it would be good for those times you want to increase the space of your normal backpacking tent: car, canoe or base camping, and for taking kids or doggies along. |

If it were me, I would just stake them out like huskies on a dog-sled. Then I would have the tent to myself. But I am not really a kid person.
