Happy Earth day
Spent yesterday with those nasty 4x4 guys and some fellow dastardly geocachers, doing something besides Putting some Sar techs on alert...

The numbers are in, 102 volunteers, 20 ton (20,000 lbs) of garbage, 2 dozen tires and 2 ton (4,000 lbs) of steel + one Dodge Durango removed from the lower 8 km of Lost Creek FSR and spur roads.

Wow. Good on you guys. Personally, we go up that way numerous times a year and see the shite that is dumped there year after year. I couldn't do what you do, picking up other people's crap year after year but I thank you and others for having such an open heart to p/u after other people's irresponsible behaviour. I couldn't do it without my blood boiling.

And also to give a shout-out to the most often 'badly labelled' 4x4 er's that do this year after year. AT used to belong to the Herd of Turtles, who used to do a clean up yearly. Thanks 4X4 guys & gals! You ROCK!!!

Come Join the Tulameen Turtles who are working with The Four Wheel Drive Association of BC who are holding their Annual STAVE LAKE CLEAN UP CITO
Location is at Dewdney Trunk Road at Stave Falls Dam (at the start of the Florence Lake Forest Service Road/Burma Street on west side of Stave Lake)

On June 2, 2012
Starts at 9:00 A.M. and goes till 3:00 P.M.

You do not need to attend for the entire day, even if you come out for a few hours you can still get you smilie for attending.
Come help our community and feel great in doing your part.
Fun for all who come.
Door Prizes and food provided to volunteers. (last year we got maps and a case of oil!)
Ever wanted to earn your full day's gas money in can returns?
Burnt cars pulled out? Come join us to do our part for the community.
Last year we hauled out over 22,000 KG of Garbage and 4,000 KG of recycled material.
