Whisperlite is pretty much unbreakable from my experience. Works anyplace, any temp, any conditions. You can burn all sorts of fuel you shouldn't (extra black soot). Mine came with a bag so the 3 parts don't get lost. The bag then gets shoved into the pack no special place at all, although normally near the top as I pack food last. I did buy a back up pump but it's still in the packaging. I'm also cheap and bought the cheapest white gas.
Seems to burn alot of fuel at full wide open, maybe I should try it a 50% and see if I get more heating per ML of fuel.
I bought a Broadstone 500ml kettle from Crappy Tire which is supper light. I like it better then a pot as it has a handle so it can be used over a fire as well. Just a few sticks will bring 2 cups of water to boil leaving no trace of the cooking fire. |
