I think you'll find that problem with many of the gyms on the weekends. The Edge and Cliffhanger are the same way. Basically on Sat. and Sun. the gyms all host birthday parties - it is a big cash cow for them. And as a gym regular, it can get to be VERY annoying when all these damn rug rats are running around underneath you. All it will take though is one fall from the bouldering wall to -SPLAT- little Johnny and it'll be game over.

But seriously. Spidergirl's idea of calling ahead is a good one. But from a group outing perspective, a weeknight might be a better avenue. Although mid-week night climbs can be just as busy.

yeah,
I belay for CH, in Coq on Sunday, and certain ones are certainly Very Busy to say the least.
