... this should not have happened, and not unlike the earlier incident this year at englishman falls park, the Paper and Parks dept { prov. and rdn. }were/are negligent in Not stressing to the public
that this place Is Leash required and under full control by owner[s]. This did not happen, a pet drowned in englishman and could have, the issue still exists, caused injury to others.
Here at top bridge, same thing, there would not have been an "incident" if rules were followed, just think, someone could have been knocked over onto rocks or river. This is exactly the area I've voiced concern over
a loose aggressive dog and the "meatheads" scaring people. I wish the papers would "report all" and the
park authority come by once in a while and bite some ass.

Bc Parks is strongly advising Cape Scott visitors to not bring their dogs to the park. There has been an incident with a wolf attacking a dog.Wolves have been spotted in the Hansen Lagoon,Nels and Nissen Bight areas this spring. (may 2012) For more info go to BC Parks website or www.capescottpark.com

While I appreciate your support for hikers, and there are many people here who take dogs on hikes etc, I don't think you speak for the forum or the majority of the participants. I don't know the site owner's position on this, but you shouldn't speak for them either.

In addition to families being extirpated from many municipal parks because of dogs acting aggressively toward children, in addition to dogs' bountiful contribution of toxic shit and piss to the environment, there are also issues of incessant barking, stealing trail food, constant mooching, getting in the way, spreading giardia, and hassling the wildlife. We had a day on the WCT ruined by an attack charge by one of Monique's dogs.

One thing for sure about dog owners, you can't say they don't give a crap or two!

Having said all that, there are some dogs that are a pleasure for people other than the owners to be with on the trail. But I'd say it's a minority. The rest of them are just a huge annoyance.

Its great that Portsider added some new info from Bc Parks. Hard to say if starting a new thread with a url to this one would have been better suited. Since it seems alot of heated conversation from 2009
