Banana is right. Manuel Antonio is accessable (relatively close to San Jose) and therefore crowded with people. The monkeys are not afraid of humans, and quite resourceful. This one came down, opened the zipper on this pack and took out a container to get a piece of bread. I chased him up a tree but took this picture first.

I would recommend going to the Osa peninsula (Corcovado Park). It is slightly more difficult, but you can get there by bus (~$14) in two days from Manuel Antonio, or fly (Sansa Airlines) to Peurto Jimenez. It is awesome!

IMO Monteverde is a tourist trap and was overrated (but the zipline was fun.) If you like nature, and have the choice between Osa and Monteverde, pick Osa.

Both Times I have been were in Febuary. The Jungle is Lush on the East but a little dry on the west. I would conder going in November or December next time to see the West side all Green. Unfortunately surf in bad that time of year. For hiking though it would probably be the prettiest.

Go Soon it is VERY CHEAP right now.

Hummm found this and the rates don't look too bad. Guess I'll start to do some research.
