Aid climbing is like masturbation, it may be fun to do but it makes you look silly when you talk about it a lot. And like masturbation, aid climbing leaves virgins behind. Gotta free it to claim the prize! In the case of Mt Sharp this means single push, alpine style, no bottled oxygen, human powered only.

Of course, Curiosity can bust out the FRA (first robot ascent) but it's doomed to be a footnote in history.
