2 of us went up last week (July 9th). The snow started consistently around 1350 meters, just below the lake. The flagging thinned out in the meadows, but with the objective in sight we went straight at it and scrambled up the headwall; it got a little hairy at times; there wasn't a whole lot of rock we could trust. The last half of the ridge to the summit is snow free (just on the crest), as well as the summit. There are 2 separate summit logs and a Danny Epp plaque next to the cairn.
Great views from the summit; Slesse is a real beaut!

And bonus; no one broke into my car!

Wow! Nice job. That pic of Slesse looks like some evil fortress. I hope to do McFarlane in the next month. |

Well done! Amazing photos! How long did it take you to reach the summit? |

Maybe.
Nicely done, and this is one of my favourite long haul day hikes. Its been a while, but I am looking at doing Crossover sometime this summer.
Nice shot of the cairn and Slesse.

| you can stay in the upper bowl and traverse along the loose ridge too, and then cut up to the summit. |

Courteney42- We took our time, stopping for lunch on the ridge etc and it was about 6 hours, but I don't think it would be difficult to summit in 5 or less.
Karvitk- I could see this being a favourite, especially for someone living in the area. Looks like a great place to camp and take some time exploring. I really wanted to see the lakes in their glory, so I may go back one day. |
