Hey all,
So, I'll be driving from Edmonton to Vancouver around the first weekend of July. I was going to stop in the Rockies to get in some hiking/scrambling, but from the sounds of it everything over a few thousand feet is still wet and miserable and snowbound. So, I thought I might stop in the interior or coastal areas instead. Does anyone have any good, out of the way gems that should be in decent shape in a few weeks? I usually take the TransCan all the way to Vancouver, but for a good hike I don't mind venturing southerly to the Crowsnest. But, closer to my main route is better. :)

Fine details: intermediate solo backcountry hiker, decent survival skills, hammock camper, looking for nontechnical peak scrambles, or in the alternative, somewhere very very pretty. I've done several climbs in the Rockies, but never one in BC. Looking for an overnight trip, maybe a 2 night if I can make time.

Cheers,
Cx

Some of the trip reports from Alberta recently look somewhat dry. The mountains on the coast are still under lots of snow. I don't know about all the stuff in between.

Last year in the first week of July I did a day hike to Trophy Meadows in Wells Gray Park. It was nice but there was still lots of snow higher up.
