| Looks like a nice peaceful place for boating. Reminds me of some of the lakes around here which are surrounded by forested hills instead of mountains. |

A tragedy no doubt. My family homesteaded a property not far from there in Minaki (Pistol Lake), almost a hundred years ago. We still use it, but not for selling vegetables like we used to.
I'll see how I can help stop this. Wishing it was an election year.

How sad. I read somewhere in another lifetime, that Canada has more freshwater lakes than any other country? wow. Pristinte areas for research should be preserved. Otherwise, all areas will have those pesky zebra mussels and snail infestation, my guess.
Teenage mutant zebra mussels....not a cartoon I want to watch... |

| Thank you for sharing. I love the photos, but I must admit they make me very jealous. I was born and raised outside Thunder Bay Ontario and dearly miss the quality of canoeing and camping that Northwestern Ontario has to offer. It is also unfortunate that the funding has been cut as I am sure there is still much to learn. I wish all the best to those that continue to fight to preserve areas such as these! |
