Being out in Chilliwack for work and having a few hours to burn I decided to take a walk along the Vedder dyke system. I had been looking at it while driving to site for a while now and wondered where it went. It is a very flat walk with lots of Eagles and other birds flying around the area. Half the year cars are allowed on the dykes but starting May some time and for the summer they are closed to vehicles. If you are looking for a nice easy walk or maybe a nice easy ride this might be the place for you. One idea is to park on the dyke and ride out to Cultus Lake in the summer stopping the need to wait in bumper to bumper summer traffic.

I want to do that sometime this summer maybe. Maybe cycle all the way to the little settlement at the far end of Cultus Lake. I just had just over 2 hours to kill before heading to my site just down the street from the dykes. I had been driving past it every few weeks for a while and my curiosity got the best of me.

This is a nice place to cycle. I like to start at the Barrowtown Pump Stn on Quadling Rd...from there you can cycle all the way to the Vedder Bridge.
