I'd like to apologize for getting off track the other day and going on a rant. Must have been a bad news day, first cuts to many well paid union jobs everywhere and contracts that give Zero-percent over five-years, then cuts to Parks which will have a upsmanship effect here in BC with Cristy Clark's commander being a well-embedded Harper Strategist. Then reading about how despite our high fuel prices [6.20 a gallon ], sales of luxury SUVs and big-ass vehicles climbed another 8.6 percent over last year's climb. Then reading how those people making financial wealth on the albertan oil stage are coming over to vancouver island and buying up many 1000 acre swaths of forest-lands and flipping them into housing, Something sleezy there. 7-billion people on Earth. Oceans being marauded. I really am sorry for ranting, it was either a very bad news day or the atmospheric manganese levels in our fuels [that were re-added under NAFTA despite our protests and brief victory. Google manganese/neurotoxin] got to me. Sorry everyone. Yesterday I avoided the news, planted three more fruit trees, invited my neighbor over, played with my children, talked to a cop, and took a walk in the rain, cleared my head. |

You apologize for ranting by going on another rant.
Seriously, just shut up. |

^ Just had an overload of a bad day that day, needed some good days off.
How about you, you ever open up to anyone about the things in life that concern you, that cause you a feeling of injustice or exasperation, are you inert or just foaming with personal insults when you can't express your core feelings?
..."just shut the fuck up"...that kind of dismissiveness is an example of a recent poster's disgust of some of CTs members, and another recent thread here on the lodge about the merits of swearing failed to highlite that many professionals and politicians never acceed to greatness when their vocabulary includes random excessive foul languages.
Take a walk in the rain darren, you may need it as much as I did. |

Yes, but there's an article in today's Sun that the US can't afford to maintain the Interstate road system because people aren't driving as much and cars get better mileage so there's less gas taxes collected to fix the roads. They're talking about tolls, which would further reduce driving.
All this reminds me of a forecast I once saw somewhere, that by year xxxx there would be no more net roads built, and following that we'd see roads torn up, 4-lane reverting to 2-lane, space reverting to food crops etc. |

Could either be awesome or a Mad Max scenario.

1/could be the high costs of gas and the loss of employment that makes people drive less. 2/and the increased fuel efficiency of bigger motors has had the undesired effect of manufacturers of suvs and trucks adding another 1000/1500 lbs of gear and options thereby negating any capital gains of efficiencies. |

Manufacturing driven by consumer demand. People willing to pay $$ for their toys of pleasure or transport of necessity, it all works out to the dollar..... Build them and they will be buy, at a certain price to make it worthwhile to all.

My New Year's resolution was to abstain from the news, politics, and voting for this election year in the US. If something serious happens, I will surely find out. Don't reallly care about politics and who is president. Could care less..... I feel happier, healthier, and don't miss it.... the news, etc. When my parents were in the working class, in the zone, they watched the news once a day in the evening. Now, we have the internet, and 24 hour news stations and 24 hour sports news stations. sheesh. To me, it stirs the pot, festers. Not to put me head in the sand and all, but I feel much much better. cheers!
p.s. forward this to my congressperson. I am sure they just love a constituent who is unaware or could care less what they do or even know who my rep is....hehe |

If I ever do feel like things are not as awesome as they could be, there are dozens of other outlets for me to use. A few of these include: Facebook, Google+, Twitter, Myspace, Tumblr, MyLife, Badoo, a diary, a blog, a piece of paper, a friend.
I'm not saying I use all of those, but the LAST place I'd be expressing my frustration at the world's ills is on a website such as Clubtread.
Next time you're out walking, buy a Moleskine. |
