Search isn't working so I am not sure if this has been posted before.

There is an interesting piece of gear on Kickstarter. It turns the heat of cooking into power so you can charge your MP3 etc while on the trail.

it's got promise. But is currently too big and heavy - the pot weighs in at 12oz - when they make something the same size and weight as a jetboil sol I'll probably jump in. But I'd imagine that the more efficient the burner and pot are the less elec you get and it becomes a pointless endeavor. But will be delighted if I'm wrong.

Was thinking of picking one up myself since i usually carry an Archos. I don't really count the oz's on stuff so a couple extra won't be a bother. :)

The PowerPot can charge your devices in the same amount of time as it would take at home (typically 1-2 hours for a smart phone).

That's alot of stove fuel unless you keep plugging in your phone or whatever every time you use your stove.

I believe there is a 1800amh battery in it so the battery charges as you cook and then afterwards you charge the phone.
