I don't know if this is considered advertising, and not appropriate to post, but I'll give it a try.
I am just passing this along. I am not involved, but hold this rescue in high regard. Please contact Big Heart Rescue if you may be able to help and have any questions.
John

We’ve just brought this little muffin down from the north and our foster home had a change of heart. He’s being neutered today and then will be homeless!!! Looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt before the weekend. He’s 6 months old and around 15 lbs. Until 2 weeks ago he had been spending about 20 hours a day in a crate. Of course when he gets out he’s bursting with energy and is go, go, go… No one took the time to potty train him but he caught on fast and only has the odd pee accident when he has to wait too long. I have to be honest and mention he’s in that bitey stage that puppies go through so some re-direction and rules will have to be followed. Our northern volunteers cared for him and say he’s one of the cutest dogs they’ve ever seen. They considered keeping him but their 2 small dogs are older and a young active pup was far too active for them. We were told he’s not good with larger dogs but he just spent 24 hours with our big guy Max who calmly put him in his place and he turned into a very good boy that just wanted to be near the big guy. He’s just a little pup that’s never had normal life experiences and he’ll soak it all up like a sponge.
Please let me know asap if you or someone you know can help this cutie patootie. Big Heart pays for everything he needs until adopted. Please forward this to your friends or go to our website and complete an application to foster. Big Heart Rescue | Fostering
Thanks for any help you can offer,
Barb

FYI Big Heart does some great work-I used to drive for them, picking up dogs at the airport that were shipped down, free of charge, on Pacific Coastal Airlines (another great organization) for medical treatment unavailable in their home communities, or for fostering. I also signed up as a foster for dogs when I moved into a place that would accept them, and that is how I ended up with Oliver! Changed my life. I no longer have the ability to foster or drive, but I consider that I am in a way still contributing by caring for Ollie-although he cares as much for me 8D Cannot recommend fostering enough, especially if you are thinking of adopting, as it gives the dog a home even temporarily and allows you to get to know one another.
see how handsome Ollie is? And he is a pretty good hiking companion. Big Heart dogs are great lol.

So glad to hear this little one found a place, not surprised, so much cuteness lol. |

Yes, I am not surprised he found a foster home so quickly too...don't usually see calls for help with the young small dogs.
I never met Gail, but know Barb fairly well (dog park buddies when Katie was a puppy). The work BHR does is amazing and inspirational, and kudos to you for playng a part in that.
Ollie is very handsome, and looks like a typical BHR dog...big and beautiful. Is he really that big, or are you very tiny!? ; )
Jenn, from what I understand, he has found a foster home, but still up for adoption. |

| Things like this cause me unimaginable rage. But that rage is always quelled by the better side of humanity :). Glad to hear it was resolved. |

| Thanks John- Yes, Ollie really is that big lol. He is + or - 100lbs, depending on the day... he was the same "size" in length and height when we took him in, but only 70lbs of skin and bone, with a gaping wound on his leg from an attack (likely from a pack of dogs, as he was on a reserve up the coast where there are a LOT of dogs running wild). I'm not huge but I have a few lbs on him lol. And his leg is scarred now but gives him no grief, thanks to BHR! 8D |
