We had some friends visiting from Vancouver for a couple of days after they finished the Bonnington Traverse, so we all went skiing up some local peaks. The first one was Old Glory, the highest peak in the Rossland Range, but still just shy of 7,800 feet, because the Rossland Range just doesn't have big peaks.
We skied up the south ridge as we were not early and the east face is a big avalanche path - good if you get at it early.
 On the south ridge.
You can ski right to the top.
There is an old fire lookout on top but it gets more beaten up each year.
Next day, we traversed Ymir Mountain by skiing up the west ridge and descending the north ridge - a little on the east side, and then skiing down Ymir bowl.
There is a handy ramp that easily exits into Ymir bowl.
The west ridge was easy this year as there is lots of snow so the usual wind-rolls were in abeyance.
 Skinning up the west ridge.
 Getting near to the top
After scooting around the east side, you drop into the bowl via a notch and this easy ramp.
The snow was super soft so we had to ski one at a time to make sure no-one got caught in a wet slide. Ideally, you'd be off this bowl long before we were. |

The views up there are fabulous, nice shots. That cornice ridge looks cool.

| Beautiful shots. I have never been up Old Glory in the winter, nice to see a trip report from back "home". |
