CHAPTER ELEVEN..............HARRY, SON OF HORN or THERE ARE PLENTY OF FISH IN THE SEA FOR ME ****************************************************************************************************************************** How often is it that two modern day swashbuckling heroes make their lauded debuts in the same place? Yankee Stadium had three- Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, and Mickey Mantle. The Montreal Forum had Maurice "Rocket"Richard and Guy Damien Lafleur. Here, on the less auspicious Clubtread, and apparently PlentyofFish, we had Clifford Grachman Greenhorn Forrestgimp and now, perhaps, the next in a long line of ladies men, the matter of factly Harold, Son of Horn, aka Harry99. Now notably, Chapter 11 is all about bankruptcy, but more about that later...
Clad in smart white sweater and shorts of plaid, Sir Harold set out, among other things, to find a modest camping pot, in quest of a spare ice axe-not girlfriend, as Dru was to implore-and a lifelong mate. But what sort of icevixen- no, not THAT Icevixen- can one find with the princely sum of fifteen (no, not fifty) Canadian dollars? The saga begins not on the banks of the River Thames, but on the steep slopes of the High Falls Creek Trail, which, while not suitable for dogs, unless they happen to be Joey the climbing dachshund, can serve to model the bravado of our own modern day Beowulf.
When searching the charms of the fairer sex, who better to seek the counsel of than our very own Aceshigh, purveyor of all things knowledgeable, superb hockey analyst, owner of much tremendous wisdom but for his hiking boots that serve strictly ornamental purposes? Quoth Aces:
"As for Harry99, I agree with what BlueCruisin said, don't sound too desperate, pretend you don't need a woman, and you will have better luck. Remember, you don't need them, they need you :). Women want a man that isn't simple to please, isn't a pushover, and is a bit of a challenge. Women also like to be poked fun of, in a fun way, and to be left in confusion, they crave that. Take me out to a bar in BC when I get back Harry99, and buy me some drinks, and I will show you how it's done. I will show you how to talk to the hottest chicks in the bar."
Sir Harold and Aces, like Shrek and Donkey, trekking the countryside in pursuit of the ideal woman, the tales, the endless possibilities, the glories, what stories!. Well, they would not begin in a local bar, as with 15 dollars you won't make par, and they'd not begin in a co-op car, as uninsured you will not get far. Still, it seems, that there must be a local lovely waiting on a trail closeby, worthy of wooing the noble Prince Harry? Because after all, there's someone out there for everyone, be they ever so unique. So don't ever change, Harry, and someday, you'll climb that peak, wherever the snowline, and no matter how sleek... |

It's little known, but pancetta exerts an almost gravitational effect. Don't put too much in one place or it will go from being a chick magnet to a singularity. Everyone knows what happens if you divide 99 by zero. |
