Do the Dam Mountain peak/loop. Its a nice outting. Jimbo and I shorted the trail to try out some fresh stuff in a few places. Made for more of an adventure.

As you are going up to Dam there are a couple of little loops to the left, they have nice views. One's called Pacific View trail, and the other is just before Dam, not on the map but there are pole markers showing the route. You can go beyond Dam to Little Goat but it is a downhill/uphill and it is a closed area as well.

You can also go out to Thunderbird Ridge and back.
PS. Take extra snacks for the Whiskey Jacks.

I enjoyed Dam Mountain. I'm looking forward to making it back out there to try out my snowshoes. Bikerider's definitely right about the Whiskey Jacks - they're way too cute and friendly!
I'd rather be hiking! |

Whenever I'm down to the end of a loaf of rye bread and it starts going bad, I chuck it in the freezer and save it for my next hike. Better for the birds to eat that than my sandwich!

It was my first time up snowshoeing on Grouse and I was pleasantly suprised with the hikeable terrain. There was more snow than expected and you could even find some soft stuff off trail. Nada and Erin had a lot of fun sliding back down from Dam mountain on their butts.
