Driving home from Chilliwack today, just past the Herrling Road exit on Jones Hill, I happened to look up the mountains. This was on the south side of the Fraser River.

There, perilously high over Highway One, as cars zoomed by, was someone climbing a huge sheet of ice. This person had parked on the highway, and was bravely ascending as we drove by.

I wondered if it was Dru. (See his "Hell's Gate" post from last week.)

Or was it someone else from Club Tread? It certainly seemed like a 'Club Tread-esque' thing to do

It was freezing cold out, the wind was high, but I am sure the view was worth it (?)

Wondering, because inquiring minds want to know...

Peter

It wasn't me, I was up at Hells Gate.

The climb you saw was called Easy Intro:

With all the ice around Hope there were lots of climbers from BC, WA and as far away as Oregon and Canmore enjoying the waterfalls on Friday and Saturday. An Oregon climber had to be evacuated with non-life threatening injuries after a big chunk of ice broke off Bridal Falls with him attached on Friday
