OK, so the Carolinas in the United States is not always the place for snowy winter fun. But last year, we had one snowfall that was over 2 feet, and there's usually snow in the Appalachians at the higher elevations.

But today it was 75F. And I got MSR snowshoes for St. Nicholas Day.... They're burning a hole in my gear closet.

Please post a trip report and photos, I think there's a few of us who enjoy reading about trips done in other parts of the world

Shining Rock usually has snow at this time of year. Very windy up there I hear.

Would love to see a trip report and some pix. Perhaps traversing some tricky grassy slopes - or something like that. Hope you get to put those MSRs to work soon!

I will certainly post a trip report. But the pics would be kinda' boring right now. Brown brown brown dead leaves. Record highs expected today.

They're predicting 76 and thunderstorms this next Thursday.

We may need to take a road trip when our deadlines are over to find some snow. Met a guy in the gear store yesterday who was headed to West Virginia for a snowshoe trip. Maybe there's snow in the mountains there?
