Try this link:

I've done a couple of trips with the author, although not this particular one. Hopefully one or two more coming up!

Costa Rica is great. I didn't get to do any backpacking there but there are some great hikes, such as Vulcan Arenal if they will let you. The food there is edible. (Hey its not Mexico!!) and sanitary. I was there a few years ago so I don't know about freeze dried meals etc.

If you want any information please send me an e-mail, i'd be willing to answer any of your questions. It was a great hike and you can pretty much buy anything you want in CR but we brough our own grub as well. You can actually buy food or mooch at the shelter on the trail, everyone is friendly and most people leave behind non perishables at the shelter. And there is always someone with left overs, we ended being fed by this french group a pot of pasta.

the trail was awsome, we did the hike in two days one day up to the lodge and on day two we made it to the top and back down , I found this hike to be very phisicly demanding (probibly one of the hardest I have done) but very much worth it. thanks for all the advice , please ask if you have any questions on this hike.
