 Camera Batteries in Cold Temperatures

I always knew that cold was bad for the life of rechargeable batteries, but wholy cow! My batteries normally last for about 100 + pictures, but this past weekend in temps b/w -10 and -20 I got about 30 pictures....Having said that, just thought Id point out a tid-bit of info that I found out...

My one battery ran completely out (the camera shut off and said that the battery was out of juice). I warmed that battery back up and was able to get a whole bunch more pictures from it. So, it looks to me as though battery life can be replenished by re-warming the battery itself.....
