I listen to anything and everything. Entertained a car pool of Ct'ers a while back with Janis Joplins Greatest Hits. At the moment I'm stuck on Borodin's String Quartet No. 2 in D Major - can't get enough of it

CD player??? I think I need to update.
Most of the time, the choice of music depends on my mood at the time. I like a bit of everything except rap and heavy metal.

Heheh, wow y'all just might be slightly stranger than i initially anticipated. I was expecting good responses but not so many wierd ones. What's with all these heroic themes and anthems in backcountry travel? I need some movie soundtracks! Seems I've been missing out.

cheers.

"Tomb Raider" soundtrack is an interesting, eclectic mix. "Blue Crush" is my favourite soundtrack in the last couple of years (reggae and other stuff I don't even know how to categorize). "Freaky Friday" is another one to check.

... did I mention that everything I know about music I learned from a 10 year old? Actually, I also had some advice from my 12 (now 13) year old as well.

sidetrip & I have designed some music compilations particularily for that purpose(we'd sell for a very reasonable price)...We have
"rev us at the 6am drive to the trailhead after sleeping poorly wondering if I packed everything I need or not"...we have a special "driving home from camping ten hours away, and getting stuck in horseshoebaytraffic"...and of course the classic "blast rear speakers to wake up the person in the back seat who doesn't have to drive"...James Taylor;Mexico,Jessee cooke rattle and burn, selected Led Zepplin,REM;losing my religion,Moby;porcelain,Pearl Jam;betterman,Riverdance,KD Lang;constant craving, 54 40;Ocean Pearl,Al Stewart;Roads to Moscow, America;horse with no name,Beethoven;Fur Elise,Bob Marley;Jammin'Brian Ferry;Avalon,Coldplay;clocks, Enigma;Return to innocence, Great Big Sea;Ordinary day,Warren Zevon;werewolves of london,The Verve Pipe;bittersweet symphony...etc. tho some people don't like singing, it does lift your dreary, wet, cold, feet spirits!(nothing sounds as bad as me singing except for sidetrip singing which makes me have to sing all the louder, and so on.)

and this one
"driving home from camping ten hours away, and getting stuck in horseshoebaytraffic"

this one is cruel
"blast rear speakers to wake up the person in the back seat who doesn't have to drive"

warning...but this would just make me drive really really badly!!!!!

Note;

the backseat album doesn't apply to children...just those people that get door to door service, and really, truthfully it's a kind thing(gotta be cruel to be kind) as I wouldn't want them to miss ANY part of the trip!!!

I don't know if any of your BC folks have ever heard of a guy named James Keelaghan, but if you like folk music (not the laa-daa-daa-sunny day happy people eating granola - kind of folk music) he's awesome. Originally from Calgary, I think, so some of you may know him. Tours alot with Oscar Lopez. Anyway, he has some great tunes, alot of historical stuff made into powerful and impressive stuff.

He sings about rivers, and hiking and canoeing and dogs and historical events and the effect of such on him and his people (by his people I mean his family and friends).

He lives now in Winnipeg, just down the street from where I used to live.

I've been wondering for the last week about the music that Anton brought to Baker. What were you listening to as you summitted, Eugene and Anton?
