Jim - your E-Mail (jhamlin@clubtread.com) is broken, it returns the error "Reason: 5.7.1 Unable to relay for jhamlin@clubtread.com". I tried this from multiple sources and it definately seems to be something wrong on your end :(
I've been working on my own hiking/exploration website for the Hope area - an early "shell" version is available here: http://www.healthspace.ca/explorehope.
I've had quite a bit of experience programming ASP/Databases/etc, and I've written some online photo gallery and image database code in ASP that may be usefull for your site - it allows for public submission, then upon approval automatically thumbnails and categorizes the images. Might work very well for the trail image feature. On my hiking website (not in ASP, unfortinately), try the thumbnail option. Something like that might work very well.
If you want any help - let me know. It might be interesting if you set up "regional guides" to be able to add trails in their area - Most sites only have the "103 Hikes" - and it would be great to see more places to explore that only the locals would know about.

Its odd that you are having problems sending me email. There was a previous problem in that I moved servers and didn't have the mail server installed. However, that was installed on Tuesday evening (Aug 13). I'd really like to work that problem out though and I appreciate you letting me know.
