Well, the time is set, the route is set, and now the only thing left is to book the nights that we're in Jasper NP.

My Dad (65) and I are starting in the Siffleur Wilderness, traversing some rough stuff, heading into WhiteGoat for some scrambling, and then into Jasper. Over the Jonas Pass, over the Maligne Pass, and onto the Skyline. We fight the crowds over the Skyline and have a ride from Maligne Canyon to Rock Lake. From Rock Lake we take the North Boundary with one "side" trip and end up southbound through the Berg Lake/Kinney Lake trail to the trail head at Mount Robson Park on highway 16.

It's 29 nights and about 550km's of hiking. Except for the stretches on the Jonas Shoulder/Pass and Skyline, we should have the days mostly to ourselves. We're ironing out some points for resupply (Jasper townsite is kinda obvious) and other minor details, but otherwise the only thing left to do is book the campsites with Parks Canada 3 months out. All of August hiking! I can hardly wait.

It's going to be a real outdoors summer this year. I'm taking my wife and daughter into Little Yoho Valley in July for three or four days. It's not my pick of the litter for hikes thanks to the busy trails, but it's an easy hike.

BTW, has anyone taken a Greyhound or other non-Brewster's bus down the Parkway?

Wow, sounds wonderful - the Siffleur is a very cool place to hike.

I've taken a bus down the parkway to get to the Nigel Pass trailhead. Works good, the driver had no problem dropping us off there. Pretty cheap way to get realiable transportation. If I remember correctly, the timing of the dropoff was pretty good also - about mid afternoon.

I've hiked all the route in Jasper you have listed - just not in one 'crazy' trip! :) Sounds like a grand plan. My wife & I are actually planning on doing the North Boundary again this September. Happy trails.

Awesome !! I can't wait to hear all about it

My dad and I did a few backpack trips up there, when he was close to seventy. I don't think we were ever better friends, and I'm sure those trips will be my fondest memories of him, to tell my grandkids

I have also hiked pretty much the entire route, but not all at once, either!

My sister-in-law is coming from Australia with her new baby, and my wife and daughter are taking off to the coast to meet them for most of August, so my previously planned 12-14 day hike just kinda grew, and grew...

I looked into Brewster's bus for getting down 93, but they don't seem to go onto 11 and it's expensive! $90 each! The Dog must be cheaper and I understand they go by Nordegg (where we're starting, but we want to leave the car at Maligne Canyon). This won't be a problem if my wife flies to Vancouver, as we'll have two cars, but she will probably drive.

Just picked up a new Nikon CoolPix 5700, so pics will be plentiful. Also, a new Magellan has been ordered, so I'll also be sharing a GPS track for those that might be interested.

Thgis year I hope to get 60 nights in. These 30, plus some Waterton or Glacier National in the Spring, and we usually get a very late Sept or Oct trip in as well. Last year I took off in the last weekend of Oct into Cline River and had 17C temps! How lucky was that!? Dare I try a repeat this year?
