Well I am the wife of dZilla, and after our wonderful trip up to Rohr Lake, my husband had to go back to work. So I decided to take our dog, and friends dog on a hike near Mt. Baker. I tried to do a quick search of a nice trail not to far from the border and hopefully dog friendly. After a quick (5 minute) google search at 1130pm, I found Skyline Divide.
I crossed the border at approximately 800am, stopped at Target for cheap Clif bars, and was on my way to the trailhead. I have a VW Jetta and the road was a gravel road, and I drove for approximately 20-25minutes on the road prior to reaching the end of the gravel road.
It was a Saturday so there was approximately 20 other cars there already.
The trail was well marked, can't really go wrong. Steep at the beginning, approximately hour before you get to the views, some switchbacks. But once you get to the top you are at the wonderful views.
Was only able to stay at the top for not as long as I wanted to, as I misjudged how long it would take me to get to the trailhead, and I had to pick up my husband. Bugs were minimal no where near as bad as Rohr Lake. Lots of people on the trail.
Now for the pictures :) I didn't get as many 'good' pictures as I was hoping as my "Water/Shock/Dust/Freeze Proof" camera was not smudge on the lens proof....
