Welcome Maya to Clubtread.

Maya has had a tough time this year. She had pups in the spring, then was surrendered in Surrey, where they don't have an SPCA, so she went to the pound. She spent 2 months in a cage, and was eventually rescued by a woman from the rottweiler rescue group, who noticed that she was completely shutting down emotionally. She came to Powell River to be fostered at the start of July, and came to my house last Friday. A terrified, cringing little girl is starting to blossom - we had lots of tail wags today, we went for a swim, and this evening she wanted to play the pouncing game on the lawn.

Tomorrow is her first real hike, along with Exscape and Alexa. I'm sure you'll get a trip report from one of us!

You'll be twice as hooked on hiking now as before.

Sounds like they didn't make enough quick money on her pups, so they dumped her. I hope her pups are in good hands, but I doubt it.

Good for you in fostering her. : )

Maya is a sweetheart and did very well on the trail. It was great to meet her Susie and I'll do up a report after Alexa and I return home.
