Round trip 6k Elevation gain 330m Trail condition Very well built and maintained, one blowdown, no alder or bush Bugs Some, but not unbearable
The Mrs and I went for a quick workout (watching the olympics made us feel lazy), and settled on this for a quick burst of fresh air.
We parked at the hatchery and walked straight through to the river, crossed the bridge and then walked north on the east side of the river for just over one kilometer before the trail goes right and into the trees.
I would consider this trail steep in places, but only for short bursts, otherwise it is a steady climb. The highlight of this, other than the view at the top is the interesting grenery, nice cliffs, and very large trees. I would highly recommend it as a good workout, plus there is a great swimming hole at the bottom by the river.

The trail doesn't end there at the bluffs. A few more paces along and there is a flagged trail back into the trees that will take you to a logging road (with not much elev gain). There is another viewpoint overlooking the valley higher up (stay left on the logging road and begin the ascent). You can also turn this hike into a round trip, following the logging road down as it heads NW. Cut back onto a trail that winds back to your starting point.
