Just returned from a two-day canoe paddle up Harrison Lake. We started at Twenty Mile Forestry Site, on the west side and paddled to Dr Point, about 17 km. The water is so high that there are no beaches and logs cover almost every possible place to land.
We managed to find a tiny spot to pitch our tent, after a long and hard search. We chose this part of the lake because of the many beaches which normally make it possible to get off the water when the winds blow up suddenly.
Exiting a kayak would be near impossible.
I suspect that the combination of logs and high water levels will affect all beaches on the lake for the next little while.
Not surprisingly, perhaps because of the lack of beaches, there were no power boaters out, making for a very quiet weekend. |

A quiet weekend, that is a bonus.
Always a bright side to each and every bad thing.
