Wanting to get out for an overnighter with my brother. Only day hikes so far this year. We decided on Nicomen Lake in Manning Park. We both have never been there. The hike in was a little muddy and had a couple rain showers along the way, but once at the lake the sun came out and we had a nice afternoon and evening.

Just after the Grainger Creek junction. The wiki say 6 km along Hope Pass trail to junction. GPS says 8.3. Grainger Creek was 11.5 as the wiki says.

Looks like a nice place. So did it take you around 5hrs to get in? How is the elevation gain on this trail? Just wondering if my 8 year old could hike in with me. Catch any fish? Thanks for sharing. |

That is really a beautiful spot.
Never been there before, but it sure looks like a terrific spot to overnight and hang out with the natural world.

| Nice photos... I like the long exposure shot of Nicomen Creek. How was the fishing? |

Took 6 and a half to hike in and abut 4 in a half to hike out. Elevation gain was about 3200 feet, most along the Grainger creek trail. Not steep, but steady. No luck with the fish, hooks were to big for the little ones by shore, deep part of the lake was on the other side. I had up to four small ones following the line as I reeled it in. I bet there are some good sized fish in the deeper part of the lake!
