My wife and I are heading out to Cathedral this weekend. I'm curious as to what the average overnight low is up there. We've got a -7* bag and a -20* bag. We also have a MEC down quilt (see link below). If possible, I would like to save some weight and prevent myself from being uncomfortably warm overnight. It's supposed to drop down to around 18* overnight in Keremeos (closest town), but I have never been up to Lake Quinsicoe so I have no idea if the down blanket is a feasible, comfortable option.

Thanks!

It will likely not be cold at all during that time. You should be fine with the bags you have.

Taking the truck up??? if so then who cares how much you bring. If your not taking the truck spend the cash it's worth it. Have a dinner or two at the lodge :)

-20 bag is way over kill it's going to be 30C durring the day.

Not taking the truck... not for me. I know the bags are way overkill, I was hoping to get some input on whether or not just the quilt, a sheet, and sleeping pads would cut it.

I was up there around this time last year and it was warm. If you're sharing the quilt with another person, it should be plenty warm. You could bring one of the -7 bags just to be safe and use it as an unzipped blanket if needed.

That's exactly what I was hoping to hear, had a near identical conversation last night.
