I got it too. Annoying to have someone jump in via clubtread, but surely nearly anyone with the basic computer skills to make it onto a messageboard is not in danger of the Nigerian scam.

Gah. Disabling his account didn't work. I just restarted the CT service so that should kill his active session. Sorry folks..

What, you mean my millionaire brother didn't just pass away and leave me $14.5 million? And I just told my boss to take a long walk off a short pier....

Hello dear friend,
My commission will be 14.5 million. I would prefer to get this amount in person. Please let me know when you can fly over here and deliver it to me.
Thank you.
Your friend,
Marko

He insisted on a 60/40 split. I asked him for the name of the deceased and he wouldn't tell me. Then it kind of got boring. :)

oh he got back to me with the name of the person that supposedly died in a plane crash. :)

I am in receipt of your email message and i assure you that, there's nothing to be skeptical about, it's a step, that will be of great benefit to you and I, and again, what kind of information or prove do you want me to provide ? concerning the account owner; try and keep this issue very confidential... this bank account belongs to a Sudanese man who died in a plane crash 2001... Deputy minister, Col....Ibrahim Shamsul-Din, he was a very wealthy man and there's no next of kin to this bank account, Mr. Marko, I'm not actually compelling you into this deal due to the huge amount involved.. OK but if you join me to complete and execute this deal, you will never regret it, and sooner we both will have a hand shake because it's after the successful transfer of the funds, that I'll come over and meet with you in your country to avoid suspicious eyebrow raised on me !!!!!! i hope you understand this ? it's a smooth operation, well, I'll advise you think over it as well and get back to me if you can handle this and receive this amount into your personal bank account.

My commission will be this: start a video camera rolling. Saw off your own head with a rusty spoon, feed it to rabid dogs. When they have fully digested and eliminated your head, I want their feces to be shoved down the hole where your neck used to be, plugged with a stick of dynamite, and lit with a birthday sparkler. When this task is complete, I will assist with the rest of the transfer. In case you're wondering, I think you are a degenerate piece of shit. Stop doing these stupid scams and try something legitimate. In summary: F#$% you.

Sincerely, dav181

He has made the mistake of referring to himself as both Mr. Edwards and Mr. Edward. In one email I asked him which one is it. He said "Mr. Edwards." In the most recent e-mail he sent me a hilariously photo-shopped passport to prove his identity, though he forgot the "s". :)

Never, ever respond to a spammer. It just confirms to them that your email address is live.

I don't think these guys are out to spam. They're out to get your bank accounts and get as much money from you as possible.
