Anyone welcome to join up, expect a 7 to 8 hour round trip including lunch.
Expectations are for a decent crop of wildflowers by that time. Plan is to hike to the meadows, visit the small lakes, and cross over Illal mountain with RMOC.
Jim Kelly and Coquihalla are not included in this outing, but anyone wanting to do those mountains are welcome to start out with us if you are not sure how to get there.
There will be one creek crossing (or log) depending which is preferred.
Looks good for some flower viewing based on Tim's report from Manning.
So far: we have about 6 people in total..
Meeting and contact points along the way:
(1) Maple Ridge -leave 6:45 a.m.
(2) Abbotsford - connect 7:15 a.m.
(3) Chilliwack (Cottonwood Mall) - connect 7:35 a.m.
Forecast is from 20 to 30% chance of showers. Weather looks decent enough and this trip is a go.
Will try out my new long camera lens; it has'nt been hardly out in the field at all.
Plan is to have lunch with some brookside at the upper meadows.

Will set a time when we get closer to the date, but likely it will be close to 7:00 to 7:30 A.M. from near Chillwack. Depending where you are, we can make a connection near Starbucks , Cottonwood Mall.

Brian, it will be great to have you join us.
We have a group coming out of Maple Ridge, so you can carpool out from town.
There is one creek crossing where I had hopped from one rock to another, may or may not get feet wet depending on water level.

Hope the day goes fantastic !
Looking forward to seeing your photo's and reading your trip report. I'm hoping to take my 10 year old son up there for a night or two in August. |
