| I answered my own question by hiking the Chilkoot Trail this past Sunday - Tuesday. There is a lot of snow on the Canadian side of the trail. More than I have ever seen on the past dozen trips over this trail. From the Chilkoot Pass to Happy Camp is about 90% snow-covered. Snow depth at the summit is about 10m deeper than normal for this time of year. The snow was firm in the early morning & all the creek crossings are totally covered, no post-holing, no snowshoes needed, no problem. |
