Spring and I took a quick trip up Tricouni today. I should have stayed home and watched Italy knock Germany out of the Euro, but it makes me too anxious to watch. That said, I'll probably watch Italy beat Spain in the finals this weekend.

Conditions are absolutely perfect right now for anyone wanting a relaxed snow stroll up to the summit. Snow starts right at the end of the road, which is only doable with a 4x4 or high clearance. There's very little risk of couloirs dropping on your ass, so get out there and check it out.

Seriously, it's the perfect time.

Car to car was 5 hours with about 30 minutes on the summit. If you don't care about these stats, then just forget them.

The route ahead

Looking back towards the lakes, which are still frozen.

Dope views

Spring will hopefully add some pictures that weren't taken with a phone.

Tricouni's a fun one! Is there still a Giant boulder half blocking the road half-way up in a tight spot?

Thanks again Darren! It was a great little trip. Still can't believe how quick it was. Conditions are perfect right now...snow right from the TH so no mud! And the summit block is free of snow so it was really nice to get my hands on some rock after all the winter climbing.

I will have to upload images another day...don't have enough time today. But if you are looking for a nice half day trip Tricouni is the place to be!
