Mount Archibald - An Evening Ridge Hike

In an effort to humor my cravings of getting a glimpse of Cheam from Archibald...8 other like minded volunteers helped me crush alder, flatten snow and pack down rocks on Archibald's NW Ridge.

We drove up the Bridal Falls FSR and ended up nicely positioned at 1110m roughly (I think-I'll check GPS track later)

The road ended and a nice trail continued until it met the bottom end of the ridge where we began our trip up towards the peak. The views were stunning from this trail with a western exposure as the sun was setting...

Eventually we made it to our high point for the night...a rocky outcrop...
(the bump above Matthew in the distance)

Stu figured we still had another hr and a half to the peak and it was getting dark...general consensus...head back down.

Along the ridge as we made our way down the clouds, setting sun and city lights put on a bit of a show for us...I wonder how many pictures we all took in total just heading down...hahaha.

Thanks for coming out everyone..I enjoy hanging out with you guys in the amazing BC wild.

Cheers,
Kelly

Hello Kelly..

Great to see you post your TR. Stu was correct about 1-1/2 hours more needed to summit. We definitey made better time with the higher elevation start and good trail to get to Bob's Pinnacle. Here are some of my shots:

Started with a 20 minute wait for the two truck to take the pickup away *

Got to the parking spot to start walking. (pic #2 is of left turn where we went May 19)

The good and better trail...
Then the bushwhack, Kelly charging in the lead...
Up along the ridge, with snow..

Up on snow up the talus field, nearing the approach to Bob's Pinnacle.

Sunset came and then the darkness.
..

Then down from there.

A nice evening ridge walk!

Some folks can't get enough rock climbing.

This is the high point.

Nice sunrays to finish.

Thankyou everyone, it was fun.
