Sidetrip & I had a great time today...four lakes was beautiful, easy tho'. I somehow tripped, and took a wicked (four point) fall off the trail...suffered a pulled tendon in my calf, and thought for a sec I had broken my hand, but it too was just a severe sprain.(still quite swollen) Sidetrip was helpful in getting me up and re oriented. I got some beautiful pix on the trail, which was over too soon. Then we took a quick jaunt up Debeck for some good cardio. We took lunch at the top, upon our arrival it was nice, and the view there, by the time we'd devoured our lunch it was snowing and the view disappeared. We made another quick run back to the car. Then off to show pix and stuff from our last trips, at what we thought was a nearby pub...we couldn't find the one we thought was there, stayed away from the Shady Tree by Cwall's report of it's controversialityand found some little local place.(does anyone know where there is or was one on 99, Squamish way, it was a nice looking log cabin style? I swear I'd driven by it each time I go up that way, and since ST had the same memory it must exist...we had a bit of a twilight zone moment!) A rainy trip back down the highway, I can definately say I'm glad I'm home with my soaker tub and fireplace, and am looking forward to a good sleep tonight!

OUCH! Sad to hear of your injuries Minou

I know there's the Brewhouse pub, down near the end of "Main St." (can't think of its real name), but aside from that... hmmm... can't think of anything.

Whoa, quite a nasty fall minou but sounds like a good day all around though. It'll be nice to see the shots you took on the trail

Thanks, my trail shots are "old fashioned AKA non digital"
I do have a few great pix I plan to scan in. I am bruised in soooo many places today...I never fall like that!....I'm a frequent faller, and think I'm so good at falling, and just when I think I'm the best faller around, nature reminds me.
The hike was worth it!
CG, the hike arond the lake took a little under 2 hours, very leisurely pace, identifying trees and birds and stopping for a few beautiful lake views...I'm not a rusher in terms of hiking, I'd rather see where I'm hiking. Then DeBeck hill, took about 1.5 hours if that...not as nice for stopping, so a fast up hill cardio, then a quick lunch at the top, and a run back to the car to avoid getting thoroughly wet...the pub we found was almost empty, and we got the fireplace couch seat to dry off and warm up.

hi Minou,

Sorry to hear that you took a bad fall ! Did you get xrays?

Re the pub - whereabouts is it? Were there paintings of the Chief, or of the Grand Wall inside by the fireplace? Then you were at the Howe Sound Brew Pub (though it's rather a ways away from the highway). I can't really think of a log house near the highway.

get well soon, C Wall
