So i was planning to go on a camping trip with a few buddies near the end of July. Nothing crazy, just a 1-weekend get together, drinking, maybe some fishing, you know what i mean. Anyways, i'm trying to find a place that's not TOO far from home, but has a decent scenic/outdoorsy feel to it. I've been to Jones Lake before, but never to Foley or Weaver. Curious as to what your opinions are on those two sites, and what to expect if i were to go to them.

Normally i would go check it out myself, but my '89 Yota 4runner is gettin pretty tired, and i'm trying to put as little wear as i possibly can on her old engine.

Weaver is a beautiful lake, I'd stay away from Foley though. I think Weaver would be best with a canoe, you'd have a ball.

+1 Foley lake is nothing more a moronic gong-show on most weekends. If you do decide to go there, bring Kevlar.

I would also echo staying away from Foley; too crazy out there. Weaver is nicer if you are canoeing and the fishing there doesnt have the same restrictions as Jones Lake.

I generally try to stay away from the big crowds of people, so i think Foley is off the list. How is the road into Weaver? I got into Jones no problem, is it along the same lines?

And MASE.

Your vehicle should get you there no problem at all next month. The lake is so beautiful and clean. It can be a busy place too at times however having a canoe and paddling away from the camping area would be the best, not just to get away from campers but also find the fish.

Foley may not be too bad during the week...

Weaver can be crowded too, as someone mentioned. Last couple times I was there you had to pay to camp- it's an actual campground. Not sure the current situation, but maybe bring some cash in case. There are some cliffs to jump off too.

At Jones I'd bet you'd have the most privacy if you drove down the road and found a nice beach site.

weaver is pay, even if you canoe across or camp seemingly out of park area, they will get you.
but its somwhat maintained and orderly, the road in is similar to jones but way shorter.
if you want disorderly ,foley will work, but shit happens to idiots there, so behave somewhat.

Ok so i'll definitely stay away from Foley. Is the water at Weaver clean enough to swim in or anything? I know one person said there were some cliffs to jump off of, so i'm assuming yes.

Roughly how long of a drive do you estimate it would be to get to Weaver from Aldergrove?

Weaver is a nice little lake, loop trail around it as detailed in 109 walks in BC. Drove my mustang up there a few years back, so road is easy, lol.
