Hey guys,

I am on the BC goverment website and I am looking at the road access for Black Tusk. It says that the gate is looked at approx. 5km.

http://www.for.gov.bc.ca/dsq/engineering/roadinformation.htm

I am wondering what exactly that means? Can i park my car at the locked gate and do the rest by foot or should I avoid that route all together?

And if so, what is that distance in comparison to the Garibaldi lake trail?

Thanks!

Long since closed off. The odd trip report on her of someone biking it, but that's about it. Probably best to go in via either Helm or Rubble if you want to go to Black Tusk.

Edit: this is the TR I was thinking about

Don't bother going up the Black Tusk microwave road if you have to walk- it's a really long, boring slog.

You're much better off going up the normal Black Tusk trail.
