Just wondering if anybody has been up to Deeks lake lately? Reports on conditions? Cheers.

Haven't done the hike, but can report the trail is gated right at the Porteau parking lot, so no more driving up the ~7km of forestry roads to get the trailhead proper.

I've done Deeks peak 2 weeks ago. (May 20)
It was gated at logging road.
Snow just started right below Deeks lake and up all the way to peak.
Lake was frozen as you guess..It might starting to melt but not much since weather wasn't warm yet.
Quite dangerous to get to peak since snow was very lose.
Bring crampon instead of snowshoes

We stayed overnight at lake and heard and saw avalanche occured twice around south side of lake.

As of Saturday (June 2) lake was still mostly frozen, open around inflow and outflow, lake and creek very high. The creek crossings en route to the upper lake will be dicey. No snow up to the lake, lots after. Appeared to be stable, only heard one small rockfall. Most of the obvious release points have gone or melted down flat. Caution is still warranted on a hot afternoon, though. There could still be some pack gliding out to a release point. I doubt there are any slopes to worry about, just a large chunk that has glided out to an edge.
The gate is closed, but a clear route around it is established.
