Went up red mountain last week and had a good view of Mount Roberts. It looked pretty snow free so I decided to head up there this weekend.
The trail starts about 5min from downtown Rossland and it was in great shape. Little bit of water and mud part way up but nothing remotely worrisome. There was a couple patches of snow in a couple groves near the top but the summit was snow free.
Map and elevation profile for us stat geeks
Had a good view of Old Glory. Looks like it might be clear enough for next week. :)
 Lovely town of Rossland

It was a little bit more spectacular last year with the fall colours https://picasaweb.google.com/108591484360569019513/MtRoberts?authkey=Gv1sRgCJ-a9JzqvufrsQE
Well that was my first trip report. I hope to do more over the course of the summer. |

Thanks slowboat, enjoyed your first TR. That old glory looks quite imposing by itself, looming above that ridge.

My hometown, thanks for the trip report. I look forward to my annual Old Glory dash this summer while visiting the lake.
Was the flag flying on Roberts? |

No Flag up there yet. I think they wait until the mass hike on July 1st to fly it.
I hope to try old glory out this weekend but with this weather maybe not. |
