Truly an exceptional story of heriosm that will rank highly in the world's climbing annals (should that be anals ). An engrossing tale of a group of climbers who embody all that is good in the world. Devishly handsome, quick of wit, fleet of foot, these mountain gods bestride the world's largest peaks with tales of daring do and breath taking skill.

Okay, Okay - I admit my review is slightly biased.

....

Okay - very biased.

.....

Okay - ridiculously biased.

Jesting aside, this book has been published by my closest climbing companion and friend through our 15 years of climbing on the seven summits (the highest peak on each continent). It begins with the author and yours truly walking down the streets of Johannesburg as mere lads formulating plans to climb Kilimanjaro. It ends with another discussion, this time while we cower beneath the hungry jet stream winds at 8,500 meters on Everest with our lives in the balance. It follows our trials and tribulations on Mount Elbrus, Denali, Everest (twice), Kilimanjaro, Mount Vinson, and Carstenz Pyramid.

The book is focused on the journey of Alex as he aspires to the seven summits but includes a significant look at our travels togethers and includes some great photos of my ugly mug.

is Alex Harris planning to sell his book through Amazon or B&N or Borders? I'm interested in picking up the book, but am a little skittish about going through an online site that I am not familiar with.

A quick search for the book and the author on Amazon didn't return any results

cheers - C Wall

Eventually he will ... South African publishers typically take their time before getting their wares onto Amazon etc.

If I was you, rather than live with the uncertainty, wait until the book is released to a bigger e-store. I'll post something when that happens.

Cheers,
