Here's a few..... The first pic is just down from the high point along Eagle Ridge from beginning of September. The second one is looking down from Spahat Rigg (ridge) the same day.
Here's a challenge for people, although it's totally subjective how much it looks like one, can anyone find the dog's head in the second pic?

Here's some from the other day walking around Buntzen.

Hey Jimbo, you got it!!! Good going. Maybe it's obvious but if it is, doesn't that make it even weirder?? |

A very obvious dog...a little cartoon-ish, but definitely a dog complete with neck and a collar (or two).
bclover, you've given me an idea for a new thread. I'm always finding images in rocks and clouds. I doubt that I'm the only one so I'll start the new thread and call it, "Images In Weird Places". Your photo qualifies!
I'll add a couple of my own, too, to start things off.
Cya!

At Harbourview Park, where Lynn Creek meets the ocean, there are several huge cottonwoods. On a clear day, also great views of the waterfront and mountains, and a family of otters also can often be spotted near the Lynnterm Docks |

As promised Mick,

Images of the Cheewhat Lake cedars. The largest tree is nearly 6m at breast height, and is the second largest cedar in the world.

Here's a walk in the woods along the Suicide Creek Trail.Much of the area is very steep, but the trees find a way to survive... These two, taken by NS Explorer, really capture the hemlock forest below the 500m level Originally, the area was logged for cedar-the occasional old tree survives on,some have fallen on their own, others are now sizable stumps... The third pic here really shows the massive root systems that must develop to support firs on steep banks Second pic shows two trees that have grown together at the base, but survive independently Really a great hike, but make sure your quads are ready |

The photo was taken in mid-March, 2003-I didn't get the impression that they actually closed the trail when I was there, although I had heard rumours to the contrary. The main control was the weather, which was generating 6m swells off of Tofino. Oddly enough, the trail was our second choice (rough having choices), as we were originally going to hike to Acous Bay on Vargas Island, but the water taxi driver thought Meares would be a better choice in those conditions.

| You can access Meares Island any time of year the only difficulty will be getting there, some of the tour operators are closed in the winter but someone in town would be willing to bring you there. Its a fabulous spot the short ride over is also pretty. |

This shot is from somewhere in far north BC or Yukon, I can't remember as it was from a road trip back in 96'. One of my favorite displays of nature!

Question: do we have a mountain photo essay somewhere? I've searched for one but can't find it.... Thanks |
