I mentioned this in the multi and single image uploader threads but seems it was forgotten.
The insert image button comes up with a error once you attempt to post your topic.
Some times the single image uploader allows you to put the off site url into the file location. But I have found this works 75% of the time.

Did you regularly use that function? I assume you're referring to the first of the 2 yellow buttons? The second yellow has issues if the image is too big. The multi "should" be the most reliable as it resizes ahead of time.

its still not working correctly, yes it is the first button (insert image)
From what I can see the site is set to download the image from the outside host. Then save it to the host database in which the image is never lost. Compared to most sites that just leave it as hosted off site, then if the image gets deleted, moved. It will appear a broken link on CT.
I'm assuming this button needs to be updated like the other image uploaders.

When the migration took place, I didn't specifically look at that one. I'll try to have a look at it this weekend.

This has been an issue for me too! :( My 'solution' is to download the pics locally and then upload them which takes much more time. Thanks for looking into this!

actually a shorter method to get around it but still a pain in the Ass.
select upload an image on left of multi image uploader. select browse image opens another box, where you would navigate to your image on your HDrive. In this box place your picture URL location on the internet. Hit open, takes a couple seconds depending on image size hit upload now
Done...

So why have we removed the button?
Seems a bit lame rather then fixing things we just remove the button all together Now?
Thanks

The new uploaded doesn't handle that particular method of uploading. It will require me to think of a way to get it to work. There are two other ways to submit photos. I thought it better to remove the option rather than create confusion.

Agreed that it's better to remove the button than to have a button that doesn't work.
The odd thing is that the function would always work in preview mode but would then give you an error when you went to post. |
