According to Bivouac, I led the first ascent of this peak in 1985 when we skied its NW side. It was unnamed until 1987, when Paul Adam proposed the name Sisqa to the Canadian Geographic Names Committee.
Alexis Guigue and I skied Longspur on Wednesday so I decided to head back on Saturday to bag Sisqa for the second time. Took the dog and started from Km 19 on Rutherford FSR at 1100. Ray Mason and crew had been up on Friday and punched through the snow patch that blocked us down at Km 17 on Wednesday. The Menzel Memorial Trail is still snowed in. Bit of a roller coaster for skiers. Not as nice a route as the opposite side of the creek, but which is no longer accessible due to a pulled bridge.
Arrived at the hut shortly after 1200. No one else around on this glorious day. I doubt the area sees any backcountry skiing except by yours truly and co. Not sure why that is but it's nice to have all the peaks to oneself. Even on the edge of the icecap the scale is immense.
 Menzel Trail mid-valley.
 Syaqtsa Skuza Peak.
Just another unnamed, never skied bump.
Rainbow Mountain and the insignificant so-called Puma Peak (or Mount Marvellous Rumps). Which name do you prefer?
 More nameless bumps.
 Sisqa Peak
Callaghan north side. Ashlu Mountain way back.
 Nameless, photogenic bump.
 The mighty Ipsoot.
 Laid back Rhododendron.
 Beautiful, iconic Little Ring.
 The haughty Longspur.
The doldrums of the icecap, kilometre after kilometre of drudgery on skis.
Exodus glinting in the sun somewhere out there.
 Appa Glacier and Appa Mountain.
Lonspur - a long ways from anywhere.
Looking back the way I came.
Summit ridge ski and dog descent.

| Thanks Spunky and Karl. It's an amazing area. The dog liked everything except a steep bit kicking steps up through the snow. |

I like your mountain descriptions - and you've done all of them or most all.

| That's quite the haul - I'd rate that at least 10 re-applications of sunscreen...well done |
