Hello all,
I started contributing to the OpenStreetMap (OSM) project and it's very fun. Right now, many places are much more detailed on OSM than Google Maps.
But the main advantage is that all those maps are reliable and free, and you can download any maps on your GPS (it works with most Garmin models, for example). I've already started uploading my trails on OSM and I encourage people to do that too.
Here is one example (the Mara Loop Trail) http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=50.7321&lon=-120.5031&zoom=14&layers=M
Google started monetizing its maps and lots of compagnies decided to switch to OSM, even Apple.
Enjoy!
p.s. By the way, I can't upload my waypoints or track on Clubtread (Ggpx faile), how do you do that? Is there a delay? |
