Up for my usual afterwork punishment I assembled an army of three to see if we could see the sea from the Raven Bluffs.
Highfalls & sticky_nikki agreed to some needle stompin, rock polishing, tree mopping fun so off we went...
On the way I sent out an email to my good pal to see if he would meet us at the trailhead and come out for some evening exercise...We pulled up and wouldn't you know it there he was.
"Wulf!" I said. "How are you? I didn't think you would make it with barely an hour's notice." He gave a big smile and I could tell that he just couldn't pass up a night on the trails in his backyard...most of which he has made amazing trails through for years and years.
We quickly threw our packs on and were up on the Bluffs in about 50mins...looking down at the river and valley. On the start of the trail we passed a solo hiker and his dog who had warned us about a BIG black bear but we saw no such thing...only the sounds of the bird community telling on us that we were invading their home.
After a light snack at the top we headed out the back way and seemed to go around the whole mtn in a counterclockwise fashion. this was the gentle way to get off the mtn and it enabled us to get in a bit more exercise, take in some different scenery and spend a bit more time together.
all in all a great, perfect after work hike...steep enough and just long enough to train on.

One of these days I'll have to get over to Raven Bluffs and meet that Wulf! Looks like I missed a nice evening.  |

Thanks again kelly for organizing this and Wulf for showing us the trails. It was definitley a calf burner!
