A hike to the creator is quite the undertaking. You might need more than a good pair of boots.  |

Up on the rim, it sure can feel like one is next to the creator.
There is camping at Climbers' Bivouac, if that's the point of entry for you. The couple of times I have went up, I have slept in my car the night before so I don't have to drive up and I can get a nice pre-light start. Pit toilets is about it for amenities. there are tent areas that have been cleared if thats to your liking. Bring your own water. |

There is camping spots south of Mt.St. Helens.... but not sure if you need to reserve. Good idea to check out. Was up there a few years ago.
