| You know what, the type of person that breaks into cars at a trailhead almost always has some sort of socioeconomic or mental health issue that helps to explain their behaviour, not excuse it, just explain it. The pricks that did this are just plain scum. I think this deserves at least ten times the punishment one should get for breaking into a car. There is no insurance to cover this. |

| Similar tree poaching has been happening in Olympic National Park in Washington State. Thieves look for isolated, low-visit areas and take cedar shake-bolts. It's much the same situation as the metal thievery problem. Without a "buyer" there would be no market so there is profit being made by some small shake mill and seller somewhere. They aren't just cutting it for firewood. |

| Tree poaching for cedar shakes is nothing new. Another place they steal cedar blocks is FSR bridges. |

I've seen the bridgework done on several occasions That is messed up, nothin like a shifting deck with Loose cables and 1/2 beams spanning as you drive across a raging creek Punishment would be best suited to taking a vandals limb Or private parts ?? |
